Compound Semiconductor Applications (CSA) Catapult has appointed its new Head of Legal and IP, Nicholas de Figueiredo.

Nick joins CSA Catapult having previously worked as a solicitor for Capital Law in Cardiff, and also as in-house counsel at Aardman Animations in Bristol. Commenting on his new role, Mr de Figueiredo said: “I am delighted to be joining the team at the CSA Catapult. The company’s mission is to grow the UK economy by fostering innovation and supporting collaboration, so it’s great to see the innovative projects that the Catapult is already supporting and the connections it is helping to build. The company has experienced rapid growth over the past year, increasing from 3 to 70 employees and moving to brand new facilities at the Innovation Centre in Newport, and I’m looking forward to being a part of this exciting journey with the team.”

CEO of CSA Catapult, Stephen Doran, commented: “Nick has joined the team at a key point in the development of the business. With the opening of our new Innovation Centre and a number of projects well underway, Nick will be heavily involved in ensuring the legal and IP area of the organisation is taken care of.
