Employees have spoken! Innovation and work-life balance are two of the reasons why employees love working for CSA Catapult, even during a crisis. Despite an incredibly challenging year for businesses the world over, The Catapult was able to sustain its award-winning culture, ultimately achieving a ranking on the 2021 UK’s Best Workplaces™ list, in the medium organisations category, published by Great Place to Work® UK today.

CSA Catapult is among the 183 UK-based organisations recognised by its employees as an organisation that promotes a healthy workplace culture through trust, pride and camaraderie during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Employees’ comments include:

“I [already] feel supported and I feel they have gone above and beyond at a difficult time.”

It’s great to be part of incredible and innovative engineering projects, I’m inspired by the people I get to work with everyday.”

“Since working for CSA Catapult and in the semiconductor industry, it has really broadened my horizons and opened my eyes to the different opportunities that are available.”

“What I enjoy the most working at the Catapult is the unique position it brings; to be at the centre of Technology and Innovation and driving solutions to solve today’s major challenges, while reducing time to market. It is also a great collaborative environment to work within, that is diverse.”

Understanding the perspective of employees is key to building a successful workplace environment. To determine an organisation’s ranking, Great Place to Work® administers its comprehensive employee survey which represents 3/4 of an organisation’s final score. The remaining quarter of the score comes from the Culture Audit® -a business-driven questionnaire that uncovers and evaluates the organisation’s HR and leadership practices, policies and culture.

HR Director, Clare Gunning, said:

I am delighted that we have won this important accolade as a reflection of our employees’ feedback.  The way that the Catapult team works together helps to drive an innovative culture.  Practically speaking, I think a positive culture is driven by recognising success, sharing challenges openly and constantly and making sure our values and behaviours are reflected in the work that we do.

“Working at the Catapult has made me reflect on what I do and how I work. Every day the team are finding innovative solutions and working on incredible pieces of technology that will have a positive effect on individuals’ lives. They’re pushing the boundaries of what is possible and when you work with people who have these qualities, it makes you work more innovatively too.
