Innovation Centre Newport

Our Innovation Centre, based in Newport, South Wales, is at the centre of the world’s first compound semiconductor cluster, CSconnected.   

The Innovation Centre is home to state-of-the-art laboratories focused on power electronics, photonics, radio frequency (RF) and microwave communications, and advanced packaging technology. 

The Innovation Centre is also home to the Driving the Electric Revolution Industrialisation Centre (DER-IC) for the South West and Wales.

The Future Telecoms Hub, based at the Bristol and Bath Science Park, is a translational research facility specialising in telecoms hardware and technology platforms.  

Work at the Future Telecoms Hub focuses on improving the speed, energy efficiency and security of future telecoms networks.

CSA Catapult Scotland

CSA Catapult Scotland, based in Glasgow, is focused on the design optimisation and manufacturing process for power electronics and packaging. 

Our Scotland office, based at the University of Strathclyde’s Technology Innovation Centre, specialises in technologies for high power industries such as transport and energy.

CSA Catapult North East

Based at the North East Technology Park (NETPark) in Sedgefield, CSA Catapult North East supports business and academia in the development of compound semiconductor technologies in the telecoms, satellite communications and defence industries. 

At our North East office, we work closely with the North East Advanced Material Electronics (NEAME) cluster to engage with local partners and help bring new compound semiconductor-based technologies to market.

Space Enterprise Lab Newport

Our Innovation Centre in Newport, South Wales is home to a Space Enterprise Lab (SEL). 

Operated by the Satellite Applications Catapult, SELs are free-to-use physical spaces for the local space and innovation community.  

The SEL provides access to virtual whiteboards, built-in video conferencing, virtual reality headsets and Microsoft Surface Hubs for collaborative meetings and business events.
